Training and Qualifications
All staff and practitioners receive an induction session before they begin working for us (this includes students and volunteers), to help them understand their roles and responsibilities. The induction contains all areas within the setting, procedures, statutory guidelines and housekeeping.
All employed practitioners are qualified to Level 3 in childcare or above, the Manager and Deputy are qualified to a Level 5. Some Practitioners have got further qualifications relating to childcare to support their role within the setting.
It is a requirement that all nursery practitioners attend regular training to extend their knowledge and skills; this also ensures we are kept up to date with regular changes that are made within the Framework for Early Years and to enable your child to reach their full potential.
Practitioners attend training sessions for Safeguarding; Special Educational Needs, Health and Safety and food hygiene to promote and ensure your child and all our staff is safe within the setting.
Occasionally we have in house training, such as first aid, this is to ensure all staff follow the same training format and given the same instructions. All employed practitioners hold an up to date First Aid Certificate.
Supervisions and appraisals are completed throughout each year with each individual member of staff, to support, advise, praise, encourage and secure opportunities for continued professional development.
